娜塔莉艾曼紐對於她自己演出的角色也感同身受，她表示：「伊薇並非出身有錢人家，她不是白人又身為女性，這些人都是有錢的白人菁英貴族，她是環境中的少數或不同於他人的存在，在各種可能會對她不利的情況下，已經處在隨時警戒的狀態。但這群人沒有想到的是，她是多麼精明聰慧，更低估了她內在的力量。」
